About Mingquan
Mingquan Zhang is an associate whose practice centres on patent and trademark litigation, including proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations and patent infringement and validity matters under the Patent Act. Advisory work also covers trademark actions and infringement and validity issues for clients. Before law school, Mingquan earned a B.Sc. in analytical chemistry from Peking University and a Ph.D. in bioanalytical chemistry from the University of Toronto, going on to complete a J.D. at the University of Toronto and being called to the Ontario bar in 2013. Case work has involved patents covering drugs such as ivacaftor, pembrolizumab, dolutegravir, canagliflozin, and empagliflozin.
