About Mike

Mike Grassie joined Cuming & Gillespie LLP in 2016 after completing his articles and working as an associate at a Calgary insurance defence firm, giving him added insight into defence tactics from the other side of personal injury litigation. His practice focuses on personal injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents and slip and falls, along with class actions, medical malpractice, and professional negligence claims. Grassie holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science, both in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, from the University of British Columbia and University of Calgary respectively, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary (2015). He was called to the Alberta bar in 2016 and has appeared in the Court of King's Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta. The Best Lawyers in Canada 2026 recognized him for his work in personal injury litigation. He has volunteered with the Calgary Youth Justice Society since 2011.
