About Sandra Zisckind

Sandra Zisckind co-founded Diamond & Diamond Lawyers in 2013 and runs the national plaintiff injury firm today as its managing partner, with every part of its operation under Sandra's watch. Alongside that leadership role, Sandra has headed up many of the firm's class actions.

The road to the plaintiff side ran through the other one. A Master of Laws at George Washington University came first, with an internship for Senator John McCain on the side, and Sandra was called to the Ontario bar in 2003. Back in Canada during the early-2000s downturn, Sandra spent the first years of practice defending insurers on claims ranging from car crashes and falls to property damage from fire and flooding, then acted for plaintiffs at a Toronto injury firm before Diamond & Diamond.

Sticking up for the little guy has always come naturally, and Sandra made the switch to put that talent to work for people who need the help rather than for big insurers. The defence years still pay off: they gave Sandra a feel for how insurance companies think and operate, plus trial experience, and Sandra has since taken injured clients to trial against large insurers.

As a legal commentator, Sandra has appeared on CTV, CityNews, CP24 and Global News and on CFRB 1010, and co-hosts the Know Your Rights podcast with Diana Iakossavas, bringing in guests to unpack personal injury questions. Closer to home, Sandra sits down one on one with younger women lawyers to talk about imposter syndrome and urges them to hold their ground.
