About Maia
Maia Tomljanovic focuses her practice on class action litigation, medical malpractice, personal injury, and professional negligence claims, acting exclusively for injured parties and their families rather than insurers. She joined Cuming & Gillespie LLP as an articling student in 2012 and was named partner in June 2020. Before her legal career, she worked as a judicial clerk at the Alberta Court of King's Bench, giving her insight into how the court system operates from the inside. Tomljanovic holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business (2008) and a Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan (2012), and was called to the Alberta bar in 2013. She has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada for medical negligence and personal injury litigation since 2022 and by Lexpert since 2022. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and the Board of Cerebral Palsy Alberta, and has chaired the ACTLA Women's Legal Forum Gala.
