About Michael
At Whelton Hiutin, Michael Cooper is a partner whose commercial litigation practice covers construction, real estate and leasing, shareholder disputes, and employment law. He has acted for several large land developers and construction contractors in complicated commercial disputes, appearing before every level of court in Ontario as well as before administrative tribunals such as the Ontario Human Rights Commission. His case work has included a successful oppression claim for a real estate developer, an order vacating a certificate of pending litigation against a cottage property, and summary judgment in a contested commercial leasing dispute. Michael earned his LL.B. from Queen's University after completing a Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Ottawa. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2007 and belongs to the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations.
