Alan is a commercial litigation partner at Loopstra Nixon whose work spans arbitration, administrative law, and appeals, with a significant focus on transportation, logistics, and Canadian maritime law. His maritime clients have included a waterski school, Great Lakes carriers, and a uranium exporter, and he handles regulatory matters, cargo claims, maritime liens, and vessel arrests. He also acts for shippers, carriers, consignees, forwarders, brokers, and insurers on transportation and logistics matters, including issues under the Canada Shipping Act. In broader commercial litigation he has handled shareholder and franchise disputes and tort claims including product and professional liability. Alan has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, British Columbia, and the Federal Courts.
