About Matthew

Matthew W. Taylor is an associate at Sotos LLP who advocates for plaintiffs in complex investment, product liability, and class action litigation, seeking redress for investors, consumers, and survivors of institutional abuse. A former protein biochemist who worked in HIV and cancer research, he brings that scientific background to bear on technical evidence in his cases. He has been counsel on multiple trials and significant motions, including certification and securities leave motions, and has appeared before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Commercial List. He writes a securities law column for Investment Executive and supervises students at the Osgoode Hall Investor Protection Clinic. He earned his JD from the University of Toronto and was called to the bar in 2020.
