About Ashley
Ashley Caldwell is a senior associate at Sotos LLP whose corporate and commercial law practice centres on franchising, licensing, and distribution. She advises both franchisors and franchisees on drafting and negotiating franchise agreements, buying and selling franchised businesses, complying with provincial franchise legislation, and resolving franchise disputes. Her broader commercial work includes share and asset deals, corporate reorganizations, shareholder agreements, commercial leases, and other contracts. Ashley serves as Newsletter Editor for the Ontario Bar Association's Franchise Law Section and belongs to the International Franchise Association, the Canadian Franchise Association, the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Hamilton Law Association. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2018 after earning her J.D. from the University of Windsor and a B.A. in sociology from Queen's University.
