About Matthew

Matthew R. Harris is a lawyer whose practice combines bankruptcy and insolvency law with commercial litigation and corporate work. He ran his own litigation firm for 14 years before joining SZK and has represented trustees, debtors, bankrupts, creditors and receivers across all types of insolvency proceedings, appearing at every court level including the Commercial List and Court of Appeal, with several of his cases cited in the Ontario Reports. He holds a master's degree in bankruptcy and insolvency law from Osgoode Hall Law School (2017), a Juris Doctor with honours from Bond University (2011), and an honours BA in political science and philosophy from York University (2008). He was called to the Ontario bar in January 2013 and the Alberta bar in July 2023.
