Construction Law
Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionMatthew advises clients on construction matters ranging from major public infrastructure, mining, and industrial projects to commercial and residential developments. His work includes litigation, arbitration, mediation, and ODACC adjudication, along with drafting and reviewing contracts under standard forms such as CCDC, FIDIC, CCA, OAA, and RAIC. Before entering law, he worked as a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario with a background in construction management, which now informs the practical, technically grounded advice he gives on claims and risk. He has prepared the full contract suite for a billion-dollar steel manufacturing facility and negotiated an equipment supply agreement worth more than $250 million. His litigation experience covers construction liens, breach of trust, breach of contract, and negligence claims before courts in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Nunavut. He has also written and spoken publicly on green construction requirements and payment adjudication under Ontario's Construction Act. Matthew was called to the Ontario bar in 2022 after earning his J.D. from Western University.
