About Brendan

Brendan Bowles has focused his practice on construction law since joining the firm in 1998, leading teams through disputes and contract issues arising from complex, document-heavy infrastructure and construction projects. He's certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Construction Law and was named the 2021 recipient of the Ontario Bar Association's Award for Excellence in Construction and Infrastructure Law. He chaired the OBA's Construction and Infrastructure Law Section from 2015 to 2016 and now serves as Editor in Chief of the Construction Law Reports. Brendan has taught construction law at several Ontario schools, including his alma mater, Queen's University Faculty of Law, where he began teaching in January 2025. He is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers and also works as a trained mediator for construction disputes.
