Jonathan R. Charland holds a law degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, earned in 2013, and a B.A. (Hon. Spec.) in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, where he received the Martin G. Westmacott Award in 2010. He has extensive experience with motions, trials, and appeals, appearing before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Divisional Court, the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, and various tribunals. He has practiced exclusively in civil litigation since being called to the bar in 2014, focusing on medical malpractice, corporate and commercial disputes, fraud, and judgment enforcement matters, with some of his cases cited in the Ontario Reports and referenced in leading practice texts. He is a citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario, sits on the board of the Shared Path Consultation Initiative, and in his spare time enjoys music, hockey, skiing, and the outdoors.
