About Eric

Eric K. Grossman was called to the Ontario Bar in 1989 and has been certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation since 1999. His entire career has focused on acting for property and casualty insurers, in both defence litigation and subrogation matters. He co-founded Zarek Taylor Grossman Hanrahan LLP in 1997 as a six-lawyer firm that has since grown to more than 50 lawyers. Eric is the author of the Ontario Accident Benefits Case Summaries and sits on the advisory board for Westlaw Next Canada Litigator's Personal Injury Practical Guidance. He has appeared at mediations, arbitrations, and appeals before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the License Appeals Tribunal, and successfully argued a case before the Supreme Court of Canada in Zurich v Chubb. He has been named a Best Lawyer in Canada for personal injury and insurance law and received the Canadian Defence Lawyers' Lee Samis Award for distinguished service in 2019.
