David H. Lauder has been a partner since 1998, with a civil litigation practice covering products and occupiers' liability, property loss, directors' and officers' liability, and professional malpractice claims. He acts frequently for commercial retailers in property, personal injury, and sports-related injury cases, and has handled trials and appeals such as the occupiers' liability decision in Kerr v. Loblaws and the ODSP deductibility ruling in Moss v. Hutchinson. The Law Society of Upper Canada certified him as a Specialist in Civil Litigation in 2008, a designation given to only a small percentage of Ontario lawyers. David earned his LL.B. from Queen's University in 1990 and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1992. He edits Dutton Brock's newsletter, E-Counsel, and has spoken at numerous insurance and litigation seminars.
