About John

John Stefaniuk, K.C. is a partner at TDS with a broad practice emphasizing environmental law, real estate and development law, natural resources and energy, commercial law and municipal law. He has particular experience with contaminated sites, mining and mine rehabilitation, wind power development, environmental approvals and licensing, commercial real estate and leasing, municipal approvals and business acquisitions, and appears regularly before government licensing bodies, administrative tribunals and all levels of court in Manitoba and the Federal Court. He has been named to Lexpert's Guide to the 500 Leading Lawyers in Canada and recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada for environmental and natural resources law, and was appointed King's Counsel by Manitoba in 2023. He was president of the Manitoba Bar Association in 2005-2006 and has served on the Canadian Bar Association's national board of directors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours (1984) and an LL.B. (1987), both from the University of Manitoba, and was called to the Manitoba bar in 1988.
