Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionMarkus Buchart has practised litigation for First Nations since joining Jerch Law in 2016, bringing more than 20 years of litigation experience to the firm. His work includes enforcing Crown constitutional obligations and handling matters involving First Nations harvesting rights, employment litigation, election disputes, and treaties, with appearances at all levels of court in Manitoba and the Federal Court as well as before administrative tribunals. Before joining the firm, he worked as litigation counsel at several Winnipeg law firms and spent time with the Government of Manitoba, working on provincial tax policy, federal-provincial fiscal relations, and environmental taxation in the Finance and Environment departments. He holds a law degree and an honours BA from the University of Manitoba and a master's degree in economics from McGill University.
