About John
John has been with Ratcliff for over 35 years, representing First Nation governments as general counsel and in litigation involving Aboriginal rights and historic claims. He has appeared at all levels of Provincial and Federal Courts and the Supreme Court of Canada, and has conducted independent investigations into allegations of breach of fiduciary duty for First Nations. He acts as Tribunal Chair for the Huu-ay-aht First Nation and has been a long-term supporter of environmental and legal organizations including Ecojustice and the West Coast Environmental Law Association. He earned his LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1986.
