About Emma

Emma advises First Nations working to advance and protect Aboriginal rights and title, with a focus on lands and resources, including the effects of resource extraction such as pipelines, hydroelectric dams, mines and LNG export. She has appeared before the BC Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Specific Claims Tribunal and various regulatory bodies. She worked on implementing Yahey v. British Columbia, which protected Blueberry River First Nations' treaty rights from cumulative industrial development, and on the Saik'uz and Stellat'en litigation over the Nechako River. She earned her J.D. from the University of Victoria in 2012 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2013.
