About John

John Alati is co-managing partner at Davies Howe LLP, where he practises land use planning and development law. Called to the Ontario Bar in June 1992, he acts for both public and private sector clients throughout the GTA and Ontario, guiding them through planning approvals for seniors' care developments, high-rise condominium projects and large greenfield subdivisions. He regularly appears before municipal councils and their subcommittees, the Ontario Land Tribunal, and has advocated before the Divisional Court, the Environmental Review Tribunal and the Ontario Energy Board. A frequent speaker at Ontario Bar Association events, he previously chaired the OBA's Municipal Section and served on the Etobicoke Committee of Adjustment and the Toronto Hydro-Electric Commission. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, an M.A. in Journalism from Western University, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto.
