About Andrew

Andrew Valela is a partner whose practice covers civil litigation and expropriation law. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2019, he handles commercial and insurance disputes, expropriation files, and regulatory or municipal by-law prosecutions for private sector clients. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and the Ontario Land Tribunal. Before joining Davies Howe, he articled at a well-known litigation firm advising on insurance and contract matters. Andrew obtained his Juris Doctor with distinction from the University of Ottawa, where he also worked as a teaching assistant in the Dispute Resolution Practicum, and he holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management.
