About Jean-Marc

Jean-Marc Leclerc is a partner at Sotos LLP known among franchise clients for his skill in commercial litigation, especially matters involving competition, privacy, and cross-border issues, along with his deep experience in multi-party and class proceedings. He advises clients across the firm's industry sectors and has taught appellate advocacy at Queen's University. He also acts pro bono for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, including at the Supreme Court of Canada. Before entering private practice, he clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal, experience he now draws on to guide clients through complex court proceedings. He began his career advising corporations in complex commercial disputes. Jean-Marc holds an LL.B. from Queen's University, was called to the Ontario bar in 2001, and is proficient in French.
