Construction LawJames is the firm's Chief Innovation Officer and a Partner in the Saint John office, where he leads McInnes Cooper's innovation strategy alongside his corporate and business law practice. He advises clients on business structures and a range of transactions, and is known for developing custom project structures and technology tools that help lawyers deliver work efficiently while giving clients transparent progress tracking. His client base includes large corporations and quasi-governmental entities. James holds certificates in blockchain and in privacy and cybersecurity law from Osgoode Hall Law School, an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick and a B.Com (Hons.) from Mount Allison University. He was called to the New Brunswick bar in 2007 and the Ontario bar in 2024, and is a member of the Saint John Law Society, the New Brunswick Law Society and the Canadian Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Saint John Sea Dogs Foundation.
