About James
James Brown is a partner whose practice covers securities law and corporate law generally, focusing on corporate finance work, public and private M&A transactions, and securities compliance matters. He sits on the firm's M&A Practice Group and Management Committee and previously chaired its Student Committee, and earlier in his career he was seconded to the TSX Venture Exchange's Corporate Finance Branch. At Western Law, James earned academic prizes in subjects including Conflicts of Laws, Civil Procedure, Company Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He holds an LL.B. with Distinction from Western University (2001) and a B.Sc. (Honours Biology) with Distinction from McMaster University (1997), and he was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002.
