About Neil
Neil Kothari has served as general counsel to a publicly traded, e-commerce-focused cannabis company, guiding it through a complex securities class action and its settlement. Neil also held the roles of Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer at a merchant bank pursuing a novel cross-border trading platform built on blockchain technology, and has supported startups and high-growth technology ventures both in private practice and in-house. Neil previously held senior in-house roles at two of Canada's largest banks, serving as Senior Counsel & Director and later as Associate Vice President, overseeing key regulatory and legal work across capital adequacy, credit, trusts, brokerage, and investment management for their international private banking businesses. A Chartered Accountant and CFA charterholder, Neil brings broad experience in banking and securities regulation, finance, derivatives, M&A, and capital markets transactions.
