Jake Adlerstein is a partner in the Restructuring & Debt Capital Solutions Group at Paul, Weiss in New York, advising debtors, creditor committees both official and ad hoc, and distressed investment funds through bankruptcy cases and corporate restructurings. His company-side matters have included Hornblower Group, CovisPharma, Hexion, Cumulus Media, and AbitibiBowater, while his creditor and private-equity sponsor work has covered clients such as Cutera, Cyxtera, Envision Healthcare, Voyager Aviation, J.Crew, GNC, and PDVSA. He is recognized as a restructuring practitioner by Chambers USA and by The Legal 500, and Lawdragon has included him among its list of bankruptcy and restructuring lawyers. Jake teaches an advanced seminar on distressed investing as an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School and has co-authored publications on bankruptcy topics including triangular setoff. He earned his JD at Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his BA at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude. He clerked for Hon. Robert E. Gerber of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
