About Irfan
Irfan Ali advises commercial and residential owners, landlords, tenants, strata corporations, and property managers on real estate and housing matters, drawing on multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional experience. He grew up in Vancouver, earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with distinction from the University of British Columbia, and obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria, where he also took part in the co-operative education program, the business law clinic, and an intellectual property program at the University of Oxford's St. Peter's College. Ali was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2010 and previously practised real estate law at Downtown Vancouver firms and as in-house counsel to one of North America's largest real estate companies. He has significant courtroom experience, including full trials and matters before the Civil Resolution Tribunal, the Residential Tenancy Branch, the Employment Standards Tribunal, and the Human Rights Tribunal, and drafts and negotiates a wide range of purchase, management, construction, and tenancy agreements. He volunteers with several community organizations, including Access Pro Bono and Junior Achievement BC, and speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi.
