About Ian

Ian Cantor is a senior lawyer with more than 30 years of experience resolving complex commercial disputes. A longtime Bay Street firm partner, he represents clients in real estate and construction litigation, balancing courtroom advocacy with collaborative negotiation depending on the circumstances of each case. He has represented clients in numerous trials at the Superior Court of Justice, argued appeals at the Court of Appeal, and taken part in various arbitration proceedings. Ian is known for communicating effectively with opposing counsel to reach outcomes that serve his clients' interests. He earned his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1988 and his B.A. in political science from the University of Toronto in 1985, and belongs to the Ontario Bar Association.
