Bankruptcy & InsolvencyHilary is part of the firm's asset recovery and insolvency group, advising and providing litigation support to individual and institutional clients, including receivers and trustees, on bankruptcy, insolvency and financial matters under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act and other restructuring regimes. She articled with Emera's in-house legal department before joining McInnes Cooper. During law school she received the Insolvency Institute of Canada Prize in Insolvency Studies, the STEP Canada Trusts and Estates Prize, the W.A. Tomblin Memorial Prize and the Clifford Rae Achievement Award, and was involved with the Dalhousie Feminist Legal Association and pro bono work for ISANS. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society.
