About Geoff

Geoff Ryans has been with the firm since 2006 and a partner since 2013, practising in all areas of labour and employment law for both union and non-union clients in the public and private sectors, including federally regulated employers. His work has a particular focus on occupational health and safety, where he has defended employers in numerous prosecutions. He also acts as counsel in arbitrations, wrongful dismissal cases, and Human Rights Tribunal proceedings, and leads collective bargaining as the employer's spokesperson. Before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, he represents construction industry clients on matters including section 133 grievances, jurisdictional disputes, employer and sale-of-business issues, certification applications, and unfair labour practice complaints. Ryans holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ottawa, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2007. He belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers.
