About Eric
Eric Groody practices civil advocacy, spanning commercial and other private dispute resolution as well as constitutional and public law litigation. He represents parties before provincial and territorial superior courts and courts of appeal, the Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada, acting for clients in the energy resource and insurance sectors among others. His public law experience includes administrative, Charter of Rights, education, elections, forestry, governmental prerogative powers, professional regulation and municipal government matters, while his private law work covers commercial litigation and arbitration, corporate and employment disputes, and insurance and product liability. He has also worked on matters combining private and public law interests, such as environmental impact assessment and land use planning. He earned his LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School in 1979 and was called to the bar in New Brunswick in 1980 and in Alberta in 1982.
