Christian Popowich represents clients in trial and appeal courts, arbitral proceedings, and before regulatory boards and tribunals, advising on civil and regulatory or quasi-criminal liability matters such as occupational health and safety, environmental and securities issues. He is experienced in resolving corporate governance and commercial disputes, and in tort cases, particularly economic torts, product liability and subrogation, whether by settlement or trial. His clients include commercial and resource companies, governments, subrogating insurers and individuals, and he acts for both plaintiffs and defendants. He graduated from the University of Calgary Law School in 1989 and was called to the Alberta bar in 1990 after completing his articles at Code Hunter. He is a former sessional instructor at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Law, an advisor to the university's Venture Development Clinic, and an instructor for the Law Society's bar admission course.
