About Alex

Alex McKay maintains a diverse civil litigation practice representing individuals and corporations, with an emphasis on resolving professional negligence, defamation, product liability, construction and employment disputes. Since joining Code Hunter as a summer student in 2018 and being called to the bar in 2021, she has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, the Federal trial and appeal courts, the superior courts of British Columbia and Ontario, and the Ontario Human Rights Commission, and has acted as lead trial counsel in product liability, breach of contract and professional negligence actions. A Calgary native, she studied sociology and law at the University of Calgary, where she received the Alan D. Hunter Award in Evidence, the Judith R. Norman Memorial Award in Family Law and Negotiation, and the Christopher G. Thomas Q.C. Memorial Prize in Wills and Estates, and undertook clinical studies with the Alberta Human Rights Commission. She sits on the Board of Directors of The GRAND, a non-profit supporting community arts programming.
