About Edward
Edward Sacher is an associate at Liberty Law who joined the firm in September 2023 after being called to the Alberta bar earlier that year. Before law, he worked as an emergency medical evacuation pilot in northern Alberta, serving High Level, Fort Vermilion, and the Little Red River Cree Nation, and also worked part time as an RCMP cell guard, which sparked his interest in criminal law. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law in 2020, receiving the Morris and Jacqui Shumiatcher Scholarship in Law, and first articled and practised as a public defender in Regina, Saskatchewan. Sacher was part of a defence team that successfully argued before the Supreme Court of Canada in November 2022, resulting in a client's murder conviction being set aside and a new trial ordered. He has appeared before courts in Saskatchewan and Alberta at both the provincial and superior court levels.
