About Ashton

Ashton is an associate at King Defence practising exclusively in criminal defence, including Criminal Code offences, drug (CDSA) offences, and regulatory offences, with significant experience assisting individuals who struggle with mental illness. She completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2021. During law school she was active with Student Legal Services, working as a Day Leader, and in her final year worked part-time at a criminal law firm where she went on to complete her articles and then work as an associate before joining King Defence in the summer of 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours with distinction) in Psychology from Grant MacEwan University and is a Director of the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association.
