About Robert

Robert LaValley is a partner at Liberty Law based in Grande Prairie, having joined the firm as an articling student after graduating from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law in 2016. He was called to the Alberta bar in 2017 and practised in Edmonton until relocating to Grande Prairie in 2023. LaValley has defended clients charged with murder, trafficking, and sexual assault, conducting trials in the Alberta Court of Justice and King's Bench across the province. In 2022 he received the Bruce Gunn Junior Barrister Award (the Top Gunn Award), given to a defence lawyer under five years of experience for outstanding work. Beyond criminal defence, he also handles immediate roadside sanctions and other regulatory driving matters.
