About Douglas

Doug Tait is a business lawyer practising in corporate and commercial law, privacy and data protection, cyber security, technology, and property and development. He is a founding member of Thompson Dorfman Sweatman's Privacy and Data Protection Practice Group, advising clients on compliance with provincial, federal and international privacy laws, data breach response, and cyber security policy. His technology practice focuses on negotiating and drafting service and software-as-a-service agreements, and his property and development work covers commercial and residential real estate, financing, leasing and land matters. He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and ISACA, and is one of four Canadian lawyers on the Lex Mundi Global Cyberbreach Rapid Reaction Force. Doug earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba in 1978 and his Bachelor of Laws in 1981, and was called to the Manitoba bar in 1982.
