About Colleen

Colleen Bauman is a partner at Goldblatt Partners in Ottawa who advises on complex constitutional, labour, and human rights matters. Her clients range from unions and professional associations to individual employees and other lawyers, and she appears regularly in Ontario and Federal courts on appeals and judicial review applications. She also represents clients in labour arbitration and collective bargaining, working to improve wages, benefits, and workplace protections. Colleen began her legal career as a law clerk to Justice Rosalie Abella at the Supreme Court of Canada and has since returned there many times as counsel; she now leads the firm's Supreme Court agency practice and serves as Ottawa Regional Coordinator for the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute. She is recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada for appellate practice and labour and employment law, and was named 2025 Lawyer of the Year for her appellate work. Before law, she worked as an exhibit planner in museums.
