About Jeffrey
Jeffrey Behrendt is a family law lawyer based in Ottawa with more than 20 years of practice, and co-founder of Big Law Boutique. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law, an LL.M. from King's College London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo, and completed two judicial clerkships before being called to the Bar of Ontario in 2000. His practice covers family law, separation and divorce, parenting and decision-making authority, domestic contracts, complex financial negotiations and division of property, wills and estate planning, family dispute resolution, and surrogacy and fertility law, with extensive experience at the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and the Court of Appeal, and in arbitrations. He has published three books on family law along with numerous articles in Law Now Magazine, and was born and raised in Ottawa.
