About Casey

Casey M. Dockendorff joined the firm as an associate in 2011 and made partner in 2015. Before that she spent five years as in-house counsel for a large Ontario municipality, which gave her a practical understanding of the challenges facing public sector employers. She advises both unionized and non-unionized workplaces on labour and employment law, with particular emphasis on municipalities, school boards, hospitals and other broader public sector organizations. Her litigation work covers wrongful dismissal and constructive dismissal claims, complaints under human rights legislation, and conflicts arising from non-compete and other restrictive covenant clauses, and she frequently argues cases before labour arbitrators as well as the Ontario Labour Relations Board and Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Casey often leads the bargaining table for clients negotiating new or renewed collective agreements, and a significant part of her work involves conducting workplace investigations and training employers on how to run them. She earned her Bachelor of Laws at the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Arts at St. Thomas University, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2005.
