About Barbara

Barbara is head of the firm's employment and labour law group, advising clients locally and nationally on trends in employment and labour legislation and jurisprudence. She also has extensive experience in insurance matters, having acted for both individuals and insurers with a particular emphasis on professional liability. Barbara drafts, interprets and enforces employment contracts, advises on termination packages, human rights accommodation issues and privacy law, and appears before labour tribunals, at arbitration, and before courts including the Ontario and Federal Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. She has served as treasurer of the Ottawa Chapter of the Women's Law Association and as a mentor for new immigrants through OCISO's professional mentorship program, and belongs to the Law Society of Upper Canada, the County of Carleton Law Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Women's Law Association.
