About Vanessa

Vanessa Poirier is a litigator and labour and employment lawyer who helps employers and employees prevent and resolve workplace disputes, including discipline matters, performance management, workplace policies, employment contracts, investigations, and severance packages. She also advises the management of unionized workplaces on collective agreements, work jurisdiction, and strike certifications, and acts for both employers and employees on wrongful dismissal, human rights, harassment, and employment standards disputes. Before law, Vanessa worked in television for more than a decade, managing primetime series for HGTV, Food Network, and Gusto TV, and she remains on the Board of Directors for the Ottawa Film Office. She earned her J.D. from the University of Ottawa and a B.A. in Film Studies from Carleton University.
