About Kaelan
Kaelan Unrau is a Senior Associate at JFK Law's Vancouver office representing First Nations and Indigenous clients in civil litigation, from Treaty infringement lawsuits to reserve land disputes and judicial reviews. He has appeared before the Alberta Court of King's Bench, the Federal Court, and all levels of court in British Columbia and Ontario, including successfully opposing government strike applications in Mikisew Cree and Athabasca Chipewyan First Nations' challenge to Alberta's consultation regime. Before joining JFK in 2021, Kaelan clerked for three justices of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and Yukon and practised at a Toronto Indigenous rights litigation boutique. He holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto (2018) and a B.A. Honours from the University of Victoria (2014), and is a member of the Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario law societies.
