About Brattys LLP

Brattys LLP is a real estate and corporate commercial law firm based in Vaughan, Ontario. Its roots go back to 1957, when Rudolph Bratty and a partner named Gambin opened a law practice in Toronto as Gambin and Bratty. The firm merged with Stanbury and Hollingsworth in the 1970s, became Bratty and Partners in the 1980s, and moved to Vaughan in the 1990s, where it has been based ever since. It later reorganized as Brattys LLP and now has close to 20 lawyers.

The firm concentrates on commercial real estate and land development, acting for developers, home builders, banks, and privately held companies across Ontario. Alongside real estate and corporate and commercial work, it handles financial services matters such as acquisition financing and asset based lending, and it has built up a specific practice in cost sharing, negotiating and administering the agreements that let groups of landowners split the cost of roads, servicing, and other infrastructure as their lands develop. Canadian Lawyer magazine recognized the firm nationally for its commercial real estate work in 2011 and 2014, and it holds a Tier 1 ranking in the 2025 Best Law Firms rankings for real estate.
