Daoust Vukovich LLP is a small Toronto law firm built around commercial real estate. Dennis Daoust and Natalie Vukovich founded it in 1995, and it has stayed focused since then on commercial leasing, commercial real estate, construction and design, litigation and dispute resolution, and telecom and wireless access agreements. About 18 lawyers and 6 law clerks work out of the firm's office at 20 Queen Street West in downtown Toronto, acting for landlords, tenants, developers, and property managers on transactions and disputes across the country.
Daoust was called to the Ontario bar in 1974 and spent a decade as in house counsel, later vice president and general counsel, at Cadillac Fairview Corporation before co founding the firm. Vukovich practiced commercial leasing law for 40 years and retired at the end of 2024, closing out the firm's 30th year in business. The firm's telecom and wireless group works on a narrower slice of that world: it drafts rooftop antenna, distributed antenna system, and other network access agreements for building owners, written to Canadian CRTC guidelines. Daoust Vukovich also publishes a free commercial property leasing guide and produces an audio series on leasing topics called RealTea.
Wheelchair accessibleDaoust Vukovich's office sits in the Cadillac Fairview Tower at 20 Queen Street West, a 36 storey building finished in 1981 that rises over the Toronto Eaton Centre and shows up as a backdrop in photos taken across Nathan Phillips Square. It puts the firm inside one of the country's larger retail and office complexes, a fitting spot for lawyers whose commercial leasing and real estate work often involves exactly that kind of large, mixed use development, even when the actual deals are elsewhere in Canada. The firm doesn't operate as a walk in neighbourhood practice; it works for landlords, tenants, and developers across the country, so the downtown Toronto address functions more as a base of operations than a local storefront.
