Cheadles LLP is a full-service law firm headquartered in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with roots going back to 1953, when David Stanley Cheadle opened a solo law practice in what was then the city of Fort William. Fort William and neighbouring Port Arthur merged in 1970 to form Thunder Bay, and the Cheadles practice grew through a series of partnerships over the decades, adding lawyers including Wally Bryan, Roy Mitchell, James Young, James Johnson, and members of the Shanks family, before settling on the Cheadles name it still carries. The firm now practices from an office on Hewitson Street with a team of about ten lawyers.

The firm's own site lists 21 distinct practice areas, ranging from real estate, corporate and commercial law, family law, and construction law to more specialized fields such as mining law, Aboriginal law, and trademark and copyright law. Mining work is organized around the stages of a mine's life, from exploration and development through operations and closure, reflecting a resource economy that is still central to Northwestern Ontario. One partner, Rosa Carlino, is also a registered trademark agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
