About CARREL+Partners LLP

CARREL+Partners LLP is a full-service law firm based in Thunder Bay that has served Northwestern Ontario since 1967, though its roots reach back into the 19th century. The firm takes its name from John Carrel, QC, who died in 2000, and it has kept the name in recognition of the founder's legacy. The current CARREL+Partners banner dates to the early 1990s, adopted after the partners chose not to rename the firm each time a lawyer joined or left. Today the firm has ten lawyers who practise business law, real estate, family law, wills and estates, litigation, and Indigenous and First Nations law.

The real estate group works on residential and commercial sales and purchases, financing and refinancing, condominium and land development, and construction lien and title matters through the Land Registry Office. The Indigenous and First Nations law group advises on Crown consultation, community economic development, governance, and land and resource matters for First Nations and Indigenous clients. The firm's single office is on Roland Street in Thunder Bay, the largest city in Northwestern Ontario, and it belongs to the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.
