About Cody

Cody Fraser practices municipal, real estate, Aboriginal, and corporate law at Cheadles LLP, with most of his work advising municipalities on public-private partnerships, by-law drafting, tax enforcement, and matters under the Planning Act and Municipal Act. He has appeared for clients at the Ontario Land Tribunal and the Superior Court of Justice, and he also advises institutional clients on Aboriginal and First Nations business and property matters. Cody was born and raised in Thunder Bay and served as a city councillor for the Neebing Ward from 2018 to 2022, chairing the city's Audit Committee during that term. Before practicing law he worked in Indigenous business consulting and supported the Far North Electoral Boundaries Commission. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020 after earning his Juris Doctor and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Learning from Lakehead University.
