Merovitz Potechin LLP is a full service law firm based in Ottawa, working out of a single office on Carling Avenue in the city's west end. Chuck Merovitz started the practice in April 1976, and Bram Potechin joined as a partner two years later, in June 1978, giving the firm the name it still carries. After roughly two decades as a smaller practice, the firm went through a deliberate growth phase: Robert De Toni came on in 1996 to build out litigation, and Timothy Grieve joined in 1997 to lead the business law group. Eli Udell (real estate), Yasmin Vinograd (estate litigation), and Mitchell Besner (corporate and estates) followed in more recent years, and Vinograd now serves as managing partner.

The firm practises across six main areas: disputes and litigation, employment law, insolvency and collections, real estate, business law, and wills, trusts and estates. As of 2025 it had grown to 19 lawyers and more than 40 support staff, still operating from that one Ottawa location rather than expanding into satellite offices. Merovitz Potechin has been listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada, and in 2026 the firm is marking its 50th year in practice.
