About Wendy
Wendy J. Wagner is a partner and leader of the Regulatory Practice Group in the Ottawa office, head of the International Trade Group, and co-leader of the Cyber Security & Data Protection Group. She is recognized among Canada's top international trade lawyers and advises on tariffs and customs compliance, import and export controls, sanctions, and related matters. She regularly represents clients before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and courts in customs and trade-related disputes. In her cyber security and data protection practice, she helps clients manage digital risk and meet regulatory expectations, advising on policies, data processing agreements, privacy impact assessments, and complex issues such as AI-enabled tools and automated decision-making. She clerked for Justice Bastarache of the Supreme Court of Canada and holds an LLB from the University of Ottawa and an MA in International Affairs from Carleton University.
