About Ben
Ben Mills practices administrative law, civil litigation, and international trade, with a particular focus on commercial and contractual matters in public sector procurement. He regularly appears before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal in administrative law, trade, and commercial matters involving the Government of Canada, and has appeared before various other administrative tribunals. He is recognized by Chambers Global, Who's Who Legal, Best Lawyers in Canada, and the Legal 500 Canada as a leader in public procurement, advising on federal, provincial, and municipal government contracting, bid preparation, contract negotiation, and litigation. He has worked with Indigenous groups on external court proceedings and internal dispute resolution mechanisms for treaty negotiations and nation-building efforts, and has litigation experience in contract disputes, insurance disputes, defamation, tort liability, breach of fiduciary duty, and shareholder disputes. Mills was formerly a sessional lecturer at Queen's University teaching trial advocacy and public law advocacy, and an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Business.
